News…
this page gives a quick newsflash as to what’s up with my life so far, what new projects I’m taking on, and etc.
Check out my first web article for the Philadelphia Weekly:
While interning at the Philadelphia Public School Notebook, I was able to write a few articles known as briefs for their Spring 2009 issue. In addition to this I was also allowed to help out where ever I was needed.
I was also lucky in being able to assist the notebook’s managing editor, Ms. Wendy Harris, with this piece:
New measures keep kids focused on earning their diploma
When first blogging for Great Expectations, I usually covered the events that were sent out by email at the Inquirer/Daily News building. The events, at that time, usually revolved around what some Philadelphians wanted to see in the city to change. I believe that it was also intertwined with the Mayoral election also.
Below are some of my entries, I was lucky to gain some comments from them.
A response to the Stop and Frisk Comments made about the previous post.
In December of 2007 I had the priviledge of being interviewed by Kia Gregory of the Philadelphia Weekly, she now writes for the Philadelphia Inquirer. When opening up the page on the day that this issue was released, I had no idea that the article would revolve around only me, but had assumed that it would include others who also had troubles with getting into school. Nevertheless it is pretty cool and I can remember a friend of mine screaming when she saw it. I love the title of the article.
