Allow me to tell you a story, rather one of the reasons that I work with the North Philly Metropolis. In our current issue where the theme of Race and Culture is discussed we have a new contributor. Now in almost every issue thus far we have had a new contributor in the mix however, the contributor that I am talking about really took the cake. I am not going to say her name because I am not for certain if she would want her story out in the open, but two days ago I received a email from her saying that she had got jump last Thursday in school and that everything was ok and if I could tell her the deadline for her next submission.

From reading her story this contributor tells you that she has been through a lot so far in her life, but despite what she has been through she does not really let it get her down. I am happy that the NPM is able to help her get her voice out to her pairs and older and hopefully if I can deliver some papers to her school she can get acknowledge for her wonderful stories.

This issue another contributor, Mecca Ellerby has drawn the cover for the NPM(go to the www.northphillyteens.com/blog to view it), it looks great, and is a perfect way to get her creative talent known throughout Philadelphia. My purpose, the entire purpose of the Metropolis is to make sure that teenagers voices are heard just like these twi, one issue at a time.
